Life for a Wedding Celebrant

David Willis
One of the great things about being a Wedding Celebrant is hearing & then retelling couples’ love stories. Not all proposal stories are spectacular, they don’t have to be. However, when Darren told me how & where he proposed to Natasha, whose wedding ceremony I delivered in July 2022, I was inspired.

Darren had whisked Natasha away to a treetop hideaway retreat in Lincolnshire, near Woodhall Spa in fact, which I knew from a 2021 wedding at The Dower House there.

Each of the luxury treetop cabins have their own boat onto a small lake. Whilst cooking Natasha tapas, the owner had conspired with Darren to lay a path of candles to the boat.
When they went outside, to cook S’mores, the candlelit path led to the place where Darren proposed.

After getting engaged in a treetop hideaway called “Pheasant’s Roost”, they had their wedding ceremony at the beautiful Pheasantry Brewery.

Inspired by the amazing accommodation, I booked a treetop hideaway for the end of September called Squirrel’s Drey to surprise my wife with a long weekend to mark our 27th wedding anniversary. It was perfect!

I am so grateful to be a travelling Wedding Celebrant where you can learn about different parts of the country & be inspired by the romantic couples I work with.
